I'm finally settled into my apartment in Florida!! I'm living in Chatham Square with 3 lovely ladies, Amy and Michelle, who I met in Idaho, and Belynda, from BYU-Hawaii. It's her 3rd College Program, too, so we are kind of a perfect fit.
When I first got here, I went to Typhoon Lagoon with Brooke and Nathan. IT. WAS. FREEZING. The water was warmer than the air. We decided maybe we should choose to do something else for the day after we ate lunch. So, we went to EPCOT where I got to see Captain EO and ride Journey Into Imagination, which made my day :)
Last night I went to the Polynesian and got my first (of many) Dole Whips this summer. I was in heaven :) Then, we watched Wishes from the beach. It was a great night!
I start training on Monday and I couldn't be more excited!! I'm taking the Theatre Praxis tomorrow, and I'm a little nervous about it :/ but I'm sure I'll be ok.
More updates to come, but for now I'm off to Hollywood Studios and I get to see Fantasmic tonight!!

Time for Me To Set Sail
Well, tonight is my last night in South Carolina for a while. My car is completely packed and I'm ready to hit the road! Tomorrow I'll make my 9 hour journey to The Sunshine State to begin my summer as an Innoventions Presenter at EPCOT, and I couldn't be more excited! I'm also auditioning for the Encore Choir, which is the cast member choir, tomorrow and I'm really hoping I get in! So, that's my Monday. Then, Tuesday I'll be hitting Typhoon Lagoon with Brooke and I can't wait to see her, it has been far too long. Wednesday I check in for my program and then I have some down time til I start training next Monday the 30th. I plan to park hop and see all of my friends at work, it will be lots of fun!
I promised a week ago that I'd put a photo of my quilt here, so here it is. I'm so proud of it!
I'll be returning to good old G-vegas in a month to see my little brother off at the airport as he departs for his 2 year mission for our church in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'll miss him dearly, but I know he's going to be able to help so many people!
I'm going to try to post sometime during this week, but it may be a little while longer with all of the craziness of moving going on!

78 degrees and sunny :)
I am loving being home. I have enjoyed such BEAUTIFUL weather, and worn shorts almost everyday for the entire week! I forgot how good it feels to wear shorts and a t-shirt! It is blissful. Also, I now only have one more week before I get back to Florida, and I cannot wait. I got a new stereo put in my car so that I can jam out to my favorite tunes on the way down, or listen to Harry Potter audiobooks, I'm keeping my options open :)
This week, I did something so incredibly fun and challenging and just overall amazing. I made a t-shirt quilt! It was very time consuming, and I spent many a late night at the sewing machine that my sister so lovingly has been letting me use. But, tonight I finally finished it! It isn't perfect, not by a long shot, but I am just so darn proud of it I could bust! I took 20 of my favorite t-shirts from Disney World, yes I had more than 20 t-shirts from Disney World, let's just not talk about it, and transformed them into the coolest looking quilt I've ever seen! I'm going to post pictures of it tomorrow on my "What I'm Creating" page, so keep an eye out for them.
This week I also went suit shopping with Kyle for his mission! He's serving in the Utah Salt Lake City mission, and I couldn't be any prouder of him. He is going to be such an amazing missionary, I can't wait to see what he's going to be doing and hear about all of the lives he will touch in his two years. I still can't believe it's almost time for him to leave. It was really fun to see the reaction of the lady doing alterations on his pants when we told her he was buying suits to take on a full time mission for our church. I think she would have shouted a few "glory-be hallelujahs" if we weren't in the mall. It is so nice to see that even people not of our faith recognize what he is doing as something so amazing.
So, all of these great things have been happening, however, I've done nothing but eat junk food all weekend, which is a serious problem. I feel absolutely disgusting, so tomorrow begins my "getting back on track," which will be so hard because I'm not buying my own groceries. When I was at school I got in a pretty good habit of buying only healthy snacks, so I'd have fruit, nuts, veggies, string cheese, etc. Now, my family has that stuff too, but we also have girl scout cookies, chips, and homemade sourdough bread, which is so delicious. At school, I would just eat carrot sticks for a snack, because I had enough will power not to buy the stuff that isn't so good for me, but at home when I could grab a handful of jelly beans leftover from Easter instead of those carrots, I think you know what choice I make 9 times out of 10. My self control just isn't quite that good yet. But it is my goal to get back on track, to shun the sweets and instead, nosh on the nutritious.
Also, my new favorite purchase is a pair of Nike+ shoes and sensor, which I will finally be able to use starting tomorrow! It is the coolest thing ever, it tracks your workouts and tells you all of these stats about it. I'm on this Nike+ training schedule starting tomorrow called "Walk to Run" which is supposed to, if you couldn't already figure it out, get you from walking to running. I've never really been a "runner" so I'm hoping this will help me break into the whole running business. I'm really looking forward to it. Wish me luck because I'll definitely need it!
This week I'm going to see Les Miserables in the Peace Center with Memaw and Kathy, which is the first musical we all saw together 8 years ago, so I'm really excited! I also have to finish packing :( I hate packing.

These are my sweet new kicks. They are so awesome. I don't even feel like I'm wearing any shoes when I have them on! It's crazy! |
